Both LH and FSH are secreted by the basophil cells of the anterior pituitary as a result of gonadotropin releasing hormone
(GnRH) secretion from hypothalamic cells. In adults, LH and FSH hormones control gonadal functions; mainly gametogenesis
and steroid secretion.
