Mitochondrial 2-oxo acid dehydrogenase multienzyme complexes play a pivotal role in the regulation of the cellular redox state. M2 is the synonym for a cellular antigen comprising the E2-subunits of distinct dehydrogenase complexes, namely PDC-E2, OGDC-E2, and BCOADC-E2.
