In eukaryotic cells, the Sm-proteins B/B’, D1, D2, D3, E, F, and G form a heteroheptameric protein core shared between all uracil-rich small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (U-snRNP) complexes. Like native SmD3, DIARECT’s recombinant SmD3 contains symmetrically dimethylated arginine residues.
